Being butler to a widower and single father is a dream job in more ways than one for Charlotte “Charlie” Emerson. She helps keep businessman Ethan Archer’s household running without a hitch and enjoys every minute she has with his six-year-old son, Wells. But as time passes, the situation feels alarmingly intimate and when her heart starts beating faster each time Ethan steps through the door, Charlie must exert rigid control over her feelings.
With her secret, falling in love would be all kinds of bad…
Ethan Archer values the woman who keeps his life in order and cares so much for his motherless boy. He and Charlie act in harmony with each other and it’s not hard to picture them as a little family…in fact, it’s so easy, one reckless night he proposes a marriage of convenience.
What will he do if Charlie says yes? And worse, what if she tells him no?

The secret is in some ways an unusual book. We have the Archer household in which we have Ethan a single father who had lost the love of his life 4 years ago. Michelle is kept alive with pictures everywhere. Including keeping her memory alive for her son.
Into the family a year before came Charlie a butler who has taken over running of the household, and looking after Wells when his father is at work. In that time Charlie has fallen for Ethan and Wells even though she tries to keep things professional. To men of the house she is part of the family.
This is an entertaining read set in the Billionaires Beach Books Series, but can all be read as standalone. We do meet some of her friends who graduated for a European Butler School but as this is my first read in this series and the only thing is that it makes me want go back and read the rest of the series. I enjoyed the relationships between the couple and the son. A great happy ending.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review
