About The Edge of Forever
Weston Kincaid was my first…everything.
My brother’s best friend should have come with a warning label.
The man was a cautionary tale and we were the ill-fated cliché.
The star quarterback to my loner art geek.
But I didn’t listen. Not to the warnings. Not to my instincts.
I fell, and I fell hard.
Then he left and I was forced to pick up the pieces of my broken heart.
A decade and a lifetime later, he’s back.
Only instead of being the star jock, he’s now a surgeon.
A sexy, irresistible surgeon who happens to save my friend’s life. As if all that isn’t bad enough, he has it in his determined, arrogant head that we should pick up where we left off.
But this time, it’ll take more than devouring looks and the rush of his touch to temp me back into his bed.
And my heart? Not an option.
He’s about to figure out, I’m not the same girl he left behind.

“That better not be you,” she warns as I approach. Her reproachful tone actually makes my steps falter.
“And if it is?”
She sighs. Her breath coming out in a shock of smoky fog. “Then you better kiss me, Weston Kincaid, because I’ve had it up to here with you and your games and you’re interrupting my quiet snowfall.”
“You want me to kiss you?” I’m smiling like crazy. My heart finally beating the way it feels like it should. For her. And all that anger and resentment and guilt I felt with my father seems to dissipate into nothing. It’s just her and me and this snow on our roof.
“Yes. I do. I won’t even pretend like I don’t.” She props herself up onto her elbows and finds me. She’s wearing the most adorable baby pink snow hat with a large white pompom on top and her cheeks are red, and her blue eyes are so goddamn bright. “But more importantly, I know you want to. I saw it in your eyes tonight at the field. So really, I’m just doing you a favor.”
A laugh stumbles its way from my chest along with the breath that had been lodged in there. Her head drops back, and I climb onto the patch of snow next to her. Turning onto my back, I stare up at the sky as white flakes fall upon us. “It’s beautiful,” I say reverently, almost to myself.
“It is. Which is why I’m here. But now you are, too, and I don’t like it, Wes. You throw me off balance.” I smile. I don’t even laugh. She talks so much when she’s nervous and her incessant babbling means I’m making her nervous. It’s making me giddy. It’s making me high. “But this snow,” she continues. “It’s so pretty. And white. And I want to paint how this moment feels.” I grab my chest. “I’d use black and white obviously. But a lot of deep burgundy and eggplant purple and charcoal gray and deep-deep navy blue. I want to paint the moment the flakes first start to fall as you’re staring up at them and they feel like winter.”
I roll over and I kiss her. I pull her face to mine and my cold lips press to hers and I catch her gasp and I swallow it down. I push my tongue into her mouth and she lets me take the lead. I kiss her. Fuck all do I kiss her. Like I’ve never kissed a girl before. Because I love this one. She makes me feel alive. On fire. Excited and calm. Restless and settled. She makes me feel everything I’ve always wanted to feel. Hell, she makes me feel seen.
She smiles against my lips. Aria is happy I took her requirement and made it my own. But that’s not why I kissed her. I kissed her because I’m so tired of not kissing her.
